Uniforms
It is important that students take pride in their appearance by wearing their complete school uniform. When wearing the uniform, inside and outside the school, they are representing the school and their behavior should be a credit to themselves, their families, and the school community. Uniforms should be kept neat and clean at all times.
Flynn & O'Hara and Lands' End are our approved uniform vendors. Items that are not listed as having a required vendor may be purchased from any source, but should remain identical in style to the items available at Flynn & O'Hara and Lands' End.
Flynn & O'Hara offers all required uniform items as well as a variety of optional items and accessories. Each spring, order forms will be sent home and Flynn & O'Hara representatives will visit both campuses to measure students placing orders. Uniforms can also be purchased online (www.flynnohara.com), via telephone (800-441-4122), or at their retail locations in the Bronx and New Jersey.
Lands' End has been contracted to provide additional options to our uniform. When ordering from Lands' End please use our preferred school code #900052317 and request the school logo. Orders can be placed online (www.landsend.com/uniforms) or via telephone (800-469-2222).
Winter Uniforms
Winter Uniforms are required for all students in Kindergarten through 8th grade and may be worn year-round.
- Boys (K-8): white button-down dress Shirt (long or short sleeve), gray dress Pants, navy/red/green/yellow striped Tie, dark brown or black Belt, black or navy dress Socks, and dark solid color Shoes (not sneakers or boots) with a heel less than 1-inch in height (rubber soles are recommended). The Pants and Tie must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara.
- Girls (K-3): white Peter-Pan (rounded) collar Blouse (long or short sleeve) or white Turtleneck with the school logo on the collar, navy/red/white plaid Belted Tunic Jumper (reaching the top of the knee) or gray dress Pants, black or navy Knee Socks or Tights, and dark solid color Shoes (not sneakers or boots) with a heel less than 1-inch in height (rubber soles are recommended). The Turtleneck, Jumper, and Slacks must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara.
- Girls (4-8): white button-down (pointed collar) Blouse (long or short sleeve), navy/red/white plaid Wrap Around Kilt (reaching the top of the knee) or gray dress Pants, black or navy Knee Socks or Tights, and dark solid color Shoes (not sneakers or boots) with a heel less than 1-inch in height (rubber soles are recommended). The Kilt and Slacks must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara.
Gym Uniforms
Gym Uniforms are required on days which Physical Education class is scheduled. Basketball uniform items are not acceptable.
- Boys & Girls (K-8): gray T-Shirt with school logo, navy mesh Shorts with school logo, navy crewneck Sweatshirt with school logo, navy Sweatpants with school logo, Socks and Sneakers (any color). The T-Shirt, Shorts, Sweatshirt, and Sweatpants must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara or Lands' End. 4th-8th gade students also have the option of wearing navy Track Pants with the school logo, which are available through Lands' End.
Sweaters & Fleeces
Students are permitted to wear only school uniform items in the classroom during the school day. All other sweaters, sweat shirts, coats, etc. must be stored in the student's cubby/locker until recess or dismissal. The items listed below must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara or Lands' End and may be worn with both the Winter and Summer Uniform as the weather indicates.
- Boys (K-8): navy V-neck Sweater with school logo (long sleeve or vest), navy Polar Fleece with school logo (full zip-front, jacket or vest), or Gym Sweatshirt
- Girls (K-8):) navy or red crewneck Sweater with school logo (cardigan or pull-over), navy or red Polar Fleece with school logo (full zip-front, jacket or vest), or Gym Sweatshirt
- Boys & Girls (4-8): navy Blazer from Flynn & O'Hara
Summer Uniforms
At the beginning and end of each school year, students have the option of wearing the "Summer Uniform." The Summer Uniform is an option from September through mid-October and mid-May through June. Check your school calendar for this year's dates!
- Boys (K-3): white polo Shirt (school logo optional), navy twill walking Shorts, white Socks, and Sneakers (any color) or Winter Uniform shoes. The Shorts must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara.
- Boys (4-7):) white polo Shirt (school logo optional), navy or khaki twill walking Shorts, white Socks, and Sneakers (any color) or Winter Uniform shoes. The Shorts must be purchased from Flynn & O'Hara.
- Girls (K-3): white polo Shirt (school logo optional), navy 2-button Skort, white Socks, and Sneakers (any color) or Winter Uniform shoes. The Skort must be purchased from Lands' End.
- Girls (4-7): white polo Shirt (school logo optional), navy or khaki 2-button Skort, white Socks, and Sneakers (any color) or Winter Uniform shoes. The Skort must be purchased from Lands' End.
- 8th Grade is given the privilege of wearing a solid color polo shirt and the khaki bottoms (pants, skirt, shorts, or skort) of their choice. Skirts and shorts may not be more than 3-inches above the knee.
General Appearance Guidelines
- Pants must be worn at the waist and the belt must be visible as a result of the uniform shirt being neatly tucked into the waistband.
- Skirts and skorts should be long enough to touch the top of the knee. Pants should not be too long as to touch the floor.
- Students must be neatly groomed at all times. Hairstyles should be neat and clean at all times. No exaggerated or unusual hairstyles or colors are permitted. Hair must not impede the student's vision. Boys' hair length may not exceed the collar.
- Under garments, such as camisoles, athletic shirts, and winter layering garments, shall not be worn to be visible to the casual eye.
- Students should not wear expensive or sentimental jewelry to school. Students may wear 1 bracelet and/or 1 necklace. No hoops or dangling-style earrings are permitted. Boys may not wear earrings.
- Cosmetics, including lip-gloss and nail polish, are not permitted.
- Hats must be removed upon entering the school building.
- Boots may be worn at school in inclement weather. 4th-8th grade students may change into sneakers when recess is held in the gym due to inclement weather.
- Dress Down Days (Grades 4-8) - Students may wear clothing of their choice to school. Tank tops, flip-flops, and inappropriate graphics are not permitted. Skirts and shorts should be no more than 3-inches above the knee.
