08/24/2017Ms. Lauren Hernandez, a proud Epiphany alumna, is the Head Teacher for 5-3, she will also be teaching 5th and 6th grade Science. The 2017/18 school year will be her third year at The Epiphany School. Lauren was a first grade teacher assistant for two years, working alongside Patricia Neary. In the 2016/17 school year, she taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade science lab. In 2013 Lauren received a BA in English from Quinnipiac University, and in the winter of 2017 she received a dual Masters degree in General and Special Education from the Graduate School of Education at Touro College in New York City.
Ms. Christina Sahr is excited to be joining The Epiphany School as the new Art Teacher for 1st-8th grades. Last year, Ms. Sahr was the Art Teacher for The Child Development Center of the Hamptons, a charter school in East Hampton, N.Y. She has a BA in Art History/Studio Art from Furman University. She looks forward to a fun and creative school year.
Ms. Amanda Schneiderman is a new Assistant Teacher in the 2nd grade, she will be working with Ms. Cappolla. Amanda graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2011 with a BA in Art History and a minor in Spanish and received her Masters of Science Degree in Special and General Education from Fordham University in 2017. During her college years Amanda spent time in Central and South America teaching English to Spanish-speaking students.
Amanda is very excited to be a part of the community at Epiphany and is looking forward to a great school year!
Ms. Katy Venizelos is the Head Teacher for 6-2. She will be teaching 5th/6th grade Social Studies and 6th grade Religion. Miss Venizelos began her teaching career as an Assistant Teacher in 2nd grade here at the Epiphany School. She received a BA in Communications from Fordham University, and in 2016 received a dual Masters degree in Childhood and Special Education from the Graduate School of Education at Fordham University. Katy holds Childhood Education and Special Education New York State Certifications. In 2016 she became a head teacher at Immaculate Conception School, she also taught at The Aaron School, an elementary special education school. She is overjoyed to be making a return to the Epiphany School for this upcoming school year!
Ms. Cathy Caulfield, a new Assistant Teacher in the Toddler Twos, holds a MS in Education from Hunter College. She is a proud mom to Epiphany students Mary (5th) and Brian (4th.) After many years teaching in Harlem, and serving on the EFA board, she is delighted to join the smiling, hard-working teachers here at The Epiphany School.
Ms. Emily Crimmins is joining The Epiphany School faculty as an Assistant Teacher in Kindergarten. Emily is a proud alumna of Epiphany, graduating class of 2009. Emily completed her B.S. at Mercy College in Behavioral Science. She is thrilled to be returning to her Epiphany family.
Ms. Sheikh Jahan will be joining The Epiphany School as a new Assistant Teacher in the 3th Grade. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Special Education at City College and received her Bachelors from Fordham University. Ms. Jahan is very excited to be a part of the school community.
Ms. Kristin Reilly will be returning to The Epiphany School as an Assistant Teacher in Fourth grade and assist with Special Education Support Services (SETSS) in the Upper School. Ms. Reilly has a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Manhattan College, she has taught for many years in and outside the classroom. Kristin is the proud mother of Sean, The Epiphany School Class of 2015, and Annie a current 8th Grader. She is looking forward to working with the Epiphany students, faculty, staff, and parents in the upcoming school year.
