Our 4th Graders are learning about energy, in all its different forms. To see the impact of forces on different types of energy the 4th graders designed and then built roller coasters.
By altering their designs they were able to see the difference between kinetic and potential energy, and how kinetic and potential energy and friction impact the motion of rollercoasters. They also explored the challenges and constraints of the engineering process.
