7th Graders Study Anatomy
05/19/2023Our 7th Graders dissected frogs in Science this week. When dissecting an animal, students see, touch, and explore the various organs in the body. Seeing these organs and understanding how they work within a single animal allows students to understand how these systems work within many other animals, including themselves.
The 7th graders were very engaged. Being able to see the circulatory system was fascinating to many of our students, others mentioned the digestive system, seeing partial digested food in the frog’s stomach and the waste in the intestines. Students gained a greater understanding of the various organ systems.
The way fat looked inside the body took students by surprise. Other students remarked on the very large number of eggs some frogs possessed while another pondered if frog’s eggs were caviar.
