Trip to the Tenement Museum

Our 8th Graders are studying 19th century immigration to the United States in Social Studies and reading Betty Smith’s A Tree Grows in Brooklyn in ELA. Their teachers, Ms. Andrews and Ms. Edgerton, organized a trip to The Tenement Museum on Orchard Street.

The museum tells the stories of immigrant families who lived on the Lower East Side using two restored historic tenement buildings as its setting.
