Welcome to Epiphany

Ms. Andrea Merson: (Director, Early Childhood Center) Mrs. Merson is happy to be joining The Epiphany School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Duquesne University. Mrs. Merson has eight years of teaching experience ranging from the toddler age through kindergarten. She also has six years of experience as a director of early childhood centers in New York City and New Jersey.

Ms. Carolyn Edgerton:  (7th & 8th Grade ELA; 8-2 Homeroom ) Ms. Carolyn Edgerton will be covering Katie Glover’s maternity leave. She is excited to return to the Epiphany School where she was a Fourth grade teacher many years ago. Until recently, Carolyn has been raising two daughters in Connecticut and working in the Wilton Public Schools.  She has a BA in French from the College of the Holy Cross and an MS in Teaching from Iona College. 

Ms. Sheley Flores: (Nursery – 2 Teacher) This is Sheley’s second year here at The Epiphany School and she is very excited to be the Head teacher for Nursery ! She graduated from Lehman College with a B.A in Spanish. Sheley is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a Bilingual extension also at Lehman College. In her spare time she loves baking and spending time with her friends and family. 

Ms. Brittany Hernandez: (5-1, 6th, & 7th Grade Science; 6-1 Homeroom) Ms. Hernandez is excited to be joining the Epiphany family. Catholic School has been a part of my life for a long time. Between attending Catholic schools and teaching at Catholic schools, Christ has been and is my center.  I graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in Childhood Education 1-6 and a minor in Psychology. I recently finished my M.S. at College of Mount Saint Vincent in Childhood Education and Special Education 1-6. I look forward to embarking on this new journey with The Epiphany School.

Ms. Allison Peet: (1-1 Teacher) A proud Epiphany Alumna, Allison joined the faculty as an Assistant Teacher in 2019. Upon completing her Masters degree Allison became our Pre-K teacher. This year she is moving to the Lower School as a First Grade teacher. 

Mr. Rocky Cortez: (Assistant Teacher 2-1, Lower School Spanish) Mr. Cortez is very excited to work at Epiphany after working for two years at Blessed Sacrament School. He graduated with a BA from De La Salle University Philippines. Outside of school my major hobby is playing and coaching rugby, and being outdoors in general. 

Ms. Cassandra Davis: (Assistant Teacher 3-1) Ms. Davis graduated from Union College in June 2021 with a BA in Theater  After graduation, Cassie worked abroad in South Korea as an ESL Teacher for kids ages 5 and 7 for 15 months. Prior to this, Cassie spent many years volunteering as an assistant teacher in many different types of Schools. Cassie is extremely excited to join the Epiphany School and is looking forward to working with 3rd graders as she gains valuable experience before pursuing her Education degree.

Ana Gonzalez: (Assistant Teacher Pre-K): Ms. Ana has a bachelors in political science and economics.  After deciding to make a career change I began working with children during my time at The New York Public Library where I discovered how fun it was working with little ones.  I then went on to work as a Teacher Assistant for the DOE where I fell in love with teaching.  I plan to finish getting my masters on Early Childhood Education.  I am a proud cat mom and enjoy lounging at home with them while reading a book.“

Mr. Aidan Long: (Assistant Teacher 3-2) Mr. Long recently passed his Teaching Assistant exams and is ready to begin his journey as a member of the Epiphany team! In his first year, he will be collaborating with Ms. Emma to create an engaging and forward-thinking experience for the third-grade class and continuing his studies in Elementary Education. Mr. Long is excited to make this academic year a memorable and enriching one for all involved.

Ms. Carol McEvoy: (Assistant Teacher K-1) Carol McEvoy recently served as an assistant pre-K teacher at St. Joseph’s School-Yorkville in Manhattan. She has also previously held a variety of positions at The Epiphany School including as a long-time assistant in the Epiphany library, an Atrium teacher in Kindergarten, and a substitute teacher. She has a BA from New York University, and her two sons are proud graduates of The Epiphany School.
