The Wandering Wise Men

12/01/2025

In 1868 the first Mass of a new parish was celebrated on January 5, 1868, the eve of the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord, Cardinal McCloskey, of the Archdiocese of New York, officially named it the “Church of the Epiphany.”

In honor of our Parish name our students are studying the story of the wise men through the beautiful rhyme and vibrant illustrations in children’s picture books and the historical, geographical, and cultural context of the wise men story in their religion classes. The Wise Men even impact science class where students studied the properties of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

The Wandering Wise Men invite our student to discover them around the school and learn their story in the process.
